Hey everyone :)
The ground will hold you. Feel it beneath your feet. It’s not going anywhere: it’s got you.
None of your struggles, goals, dreams, or burdens are too heavy. The ground will hold you.
This feels like a good day to remind you (and myself) of this. So let’s do a little grounding practice and feel the steadiness of the rock we stand on.
It’s already discounted on Amazon. The way the Amazon algorithm works is that more pre-orders mean a lower price to pay. And you’ll always pay the lowest price between now and the release date if you pre-order from them. So let’s get it as low as possible!
Stand up
Stand on your feet, if you are able to. Allow your knees to soften and draw the steadiness of the ground up through your bones. Maybe you bounce, just a little, on those soft knees — to test the ground. It’ll prove that it can hold you.
Close your eyes. Your neck is comfortable, your body is tall. You can stand strong and confident because you are held; you are supported here, and you feel free.
Take a deep breath in through the nose. Then sigh it out through the mouth (as loud or as quiet as you like). Again - in and out.
If your body isn’t able to stand on two feet, then connect with the part of you that is most rooted to the earth. Whatever that feels like for you.
Breathe down
Now take a deep, slow breath in through the nose. Imagine that you’re breathing all the way down from your nose to your feet. The breath travels through the body, mapping every cell. And when that breath reaches your feet, you breathe even further – your inhale travels into the ground. Into the Earth. You are breathing into the planet; the Earth is filling with your breath.
And then as you exhale, imagine that your breath is travelling back out of the ground; the Earth contracts and softens as your breath leaves it. And then the breath travels back up through your body, and out of your nose again – until there is no breath left in your body.
Do this three more times at your own pace. Breathe in and the breath energizes the whole of your body and then the whole of the Earth. Breathe out, and feel that energy of the Earth passing through you.
You are on the ground
Allow your breath to return to normal. Allow yourself to remain here, steady on the ground. Feel the ground beneath you again: you are aware of the connection between yourself and the Earth.
You know the ground will hold you.
No matter what.
Allow the knees to soften; maybe you bounce lightly again, feeling the solidness and security of the ever-present ground. Its support is unconditional. It will not waiver.
And then open your eyes. Return to your day. And as you move through this Sunday, moment by moment, continue to feel the steadiness that serves you; that is a part of you; that will never leave you.
The Sunday Affirmation
Be blessed,
