Life is unpredictable, and most of us aren’t prone to enjoy the Universe’s spontaneous ways. We like what’s familiar and relish in the comfort of the known. It gives us a little cushion and some semblance of safety.
Just take a look at your closet, pantry, and social media feed—they’re all a bunch of the same things. These familiar patterns that we like to call preferences are little safety blankets to look forward to. When the world gets scary, it’s nice to know you can comfort yourself in recognizable and routine ways.
But as the human experience would have it, something or someone is going to come along and shake things up—popping you right out of your comfort zone like an amateur skydiver jumping out of a tiny plane; you’re now free-flying into the unknown.
